FG Directs MDAs to Comply With New Procedures for Equipment Leasing

The Federal Government has directed all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to strictly comply with new procedures for equipment leasing in the country. The directive, issued through the Equipment Leasing Registration Authority (ELRA) under the Federal Ministry of Finance, was contained in a circular signed by the Registrar/CEO of ELRA, Donald Wokoma.
According to the circular, MDAs must now process all equipment leasing transactions through ELRA, using its official website (www.elra.gov.ng) or designated phone lines. It added that Key requirements include presenting an ELRA registration certificate for all leasing-related procurements, registering all lease agreements with ELRA, and adhering to the Public Procurement Act.
Wokoma said the compliance regime will enhance transparency, accountability, and regulatory oversight in public sector leasing, while supporting the Federal Government’s revenue drive. He urged all government institutions to circulate and strictly adhere to the directive to avoid sanctions.
