Police Arrest 13 Cattle Rustlers, Recovered 27 Cattles

The kaduna state police command has arrested at least 13 cattle rustlers and recovered about thirty cattles amongst other exhibit.
This was disclosed in a statement on Tuesday by DSP mansir Hassan the commands public relations officer; he said the arrest took place on 17th August, at about 1200hrs, the Divisional Police Officer Toll Gate received credible intelligence that some suspected rustled cattle were being transported in three separate vehicles along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway.
The DPO immediately mobilized officers and men of the division, he mounted a snap stop and search checkpoint along the route. The Dpo eventually intercepted the three vehicles were a total of twenty-Seven (27) Cattle’s were recovered and arrested the following suspects in connection with the crime, Lawal Sarki, Sule VIO, Ayuba Mohammed, Mohammed Bashir, Abu Mai Chaji, Abdullateef Lateef, Shamsudden Abdullahi, Jonathan Ishaya and Yakubu Alhassan.
Furthermore additional suspects were arrested, Alh. Abu, Shamsudeen Abdullahi, Lawal Abdullahi and Abba Hamisu. upon further interrogations, one of the suspects confessed to have been receiving rustled cows from a notorious bandit popularly known as Lagu, who is amongst the notorious wanted Bandits that have been terrorizing the Area. He also admitted of receiving at least 50 rustled cows from one Abdullahi of Rijana, who is also on the run.
Investigation into the criminal conspiracy and cattle rustling network is ongoing and efforts are being intensified to apprehend all accomplices and bring them to justice.
